Hmm, that plenum and strut bar look out of place not being polished. Gonna have to do something about that for my next project.

Hey, I bought one of those too. I like it, BUT I took a trip to Reno ('bout 200 miles) with the AC running all the way. When I arrived I was showing the engine to an interested party and discovered the "Z" emblem was no longer attached to the center of the cap. Like the adhesive had melted then dissipated from the heat of the engine compartment.
I contacted the seller about it, and he wanted me to send it all back to him and he'd fix it. I'm waiting to hear from a buddy of mine who know's alot about adhesives (like "high temp.") and see what he says before I let go of the cap to the seller.
Hope you have better luck, but suggest you check the cap once in awhile just to be sure everything stays secure.
I still like it.......

The EXACT same thing happened to mine after only 2 days! I just hit it with the hot glue gun and stuck it back on and it hasn't come off at all since then.

Bonz, thanks for the idea. I'll check the cap after going for a cruise.

BTW, you may want to look into these bolt covers. I think they look neat and they were recommended to me by spydr. I purchased mine at Pep Boys. The two sizes needed are 10mm and 12mm. 10mm bolts, however, far outnumber 12mm bolts. I actually need to get some more but Pep Boys ran out of them.

What is the difference in the bolts? Do you have a close up? Are they just shiner or are they different in another way?

They are bolt covers and yes they are shinier. They basically snap on to the bolt. If you look at the first picture I posted you can see a closeup of one on the top right had corner. IMO, these caps makes the engine bay look cleaner. They look better in person than they do in pictures.

I'm terrible with pictures but here's another angle. It's only a cosmetic thing and I'm sure not everyone will like it but I think it adds a nice touch to an engine compartment that's had some mods. done to it.

Oh OK, I can see it in the first pic. It looks a lot better. How much were they at Pep Boys?

hot glue might not be the best choice... as it is a thermo plastic basicly, and will melt if it hits the right temp again.

epoxies will last throught the heat. silicone has a crazy high melting point. superglue will get brittle.

Id reccomend silicone or epoxy.(the latter being stronger and firmer, but a much bigger PITA to use)

I'm not sure exactly what kind it was. It is the kind that comes in those cylindrical sticks (kinda looks like a white slim jim) that goes inside this gun the heats up. You then pull the trigger and the melted glue comes out the front as the stick heats up and is pushed forward into the heating element.

All I know is it is still stuck on there?

no doubt it is, Im not sure what temp it melts at Id guess a few hundred degrees tho. 4-500 maybe. so its very likely your engine hasnt hit that high of a temp(I hope ) so hotglue might/should be fine.
