Help with Shine side skirts
Has anyone here installed the replica amuse sideskirts from Shine Auto? I'm trying to figure out how your supposed to get the OEM clips to fit on the sideskirt.
Can anyone help?

Yeah got that.
I've got them both mated up to the car and fitment seems to be pretty good. I was just wondering how other people attached them at the top. I was considering trimming the OEM clips and then using some serious marine adhesive to glue the clips to the side skirts in the right places.
Do you guys reckon that would work.
P.S. You guys that have screws in there, how did they put the screws in? I mean, did the drill into the chassis of the car? Can you now see the heads of the screws when the door is open?
Thanks guys

MY body shop used elmers glue, and wood screws
For real tho, just use some small black hex head screws, We only used 2 on mine in the door jam and it turned out reall clean, I wouldnt use any kind of adhesive. Taking them of will be a pita!

Thanks. I just need more detail. There needs to be a female & male end for the screws to work. So I don't know if people are using a plastic piece in the car...and then a screw goes into that? So many Z's with body kits....but it sounds like a lot of people half-azz some stuff sometimes. I just want the best possible way to mount these.

I was under the impression that most side skirts came with holes pre-drilled in the OEM clip locations along the bottom of the door jamb? My GReddy skirts had that - and IMO they're not exactly top-of-the-line body kit material. Can anyone post pictures of the Amuse (or shine replica) side skirts?

I don't have any pics I can provide right now, but I can say that the Shine kit is pre-drilled (at least the one I bought off another member) in the door jamb area (5 holes I believe). In fact it comes with one extra hole that the OEM sides do not use...a crucial mounting point for best fitment.
I'm thinking there has to be some sort of plastic female plug that replaces the white female plugs in the side of the door jamb on the car. Then some sort of screw goes through the sideskirt holes and through the plastic female plugs?

I got mine remounted thanks to my local Lowe's hardware store.
The one thing I would say is that these do not need to be flat all the way up against the car in the door jamb area. Keep in mind that the door sills (I'm going to replace mine) will cover everything.
So for the 6 holes in each door jamb, I found these plastic clips that the screws go into. I will say that the plastic clips barely stay in the holes until you put the screws in. I don't suggest doing this by hand either (the first time).....it's faster/easier with something that can put the screws through the clips. I wish I could have gotten these size screws in black...but they didn't have the length I wanted.
I was stressing over this, so hopefully this helps someone...hopefully.
Sides are not all the way flat against the car...the clips pull out a little, but they work great. This is the shot looking directly down..you can see the little white clips.

I ended up using some push-rivets that I got from a local automotive paint place. They are black and seem to be working. I'll get the part number for them when I get home.
