Default My ZR's first carbon piece

We just installed a Seibon VSII from Gruppe-S. Got the hood for only 450 shipped! Thanks guys! The fitment isn't OEM but is really good. This is the first Carbon piece I have ever owned on any of my cars and I really like it. In the sun the weave looks amazing. I need to add hood pins because many members on here have freaked me out about my hood flying off on me, lol. That will get done in a few weeks when I get back.

I took some pics but it was overcast out and car is DIRTY. I just wanted to show some before and after pics of the work so far.

Next is black wheels and possibly a carbon fiber lip kit or black lip kit.

Thanks for looking.

Looking good! Are you doing any more mods to your car?

Yes, next I would like to add some black wheels and lip kit. As far as engine goes I am happy with the mods I have done until I go F/I. That will be a while. I also just did the Kenwood DNX7100 Nav/dvd. I have an amp in the passenger glove box and am putting a 12" sub behind the seat. That will get done in a few weeks.

Thanks for the nice comment!

Nice! I like it. Quick question though about this hood, did you re-use some of the rubber pieces/seal from the oem hood?

Thanks for the nice comments from everyone. Yeah this is a great hood. The spot isn't even noticable unless you know where its at. Plus its next to the vent so its really hard to see.

I bought some hood pins. I am going to put them on, but will have to wait a couple weeks. I am heading out of town.

Exactly, it was an awesome deal. Many people don't know about these, but Mastergrade has a bunch of carbon fiber parts for the ZR's. Pillars, roof piece, trunk, etc. You should check them out !

Yes like you said all in due time. I am also finishing up some audio work too right now. In a couple weeks I will have a sub behind the seat. I already have the amp mounted in the passenger glove box. I just got the Kenwood DNX Nav/Dvd combo installed. That is a sweet unit. But that is for a different section

Thanks, I am just really trying to plan things out instead of just slapping mods on the car. You can get a lot of good ideas just from surfing on here and seeing what others have done as well.

The bad thing is that everytime I get on this site I feel like spending more money lol!

I like the carbon fiber but it looks terrible on a silver car. Looks like you got into an accident and havn't painted the hood yet. On a black/dark car yes, any other color I just don't like it. That's just my opinion however and if you like it run with that, that's all that matters.

Get pins however because the latch in the hood is only held in with carbon fiber / fiberglass and if it flys open on the highway you will be sorry.

I thought people might think the same thing too, that the hood doesn't look painted, but nobody has. The carbon weave looks really good and it stands out. It doesn't look cheap in person, I'm sure some people that know nothing about cars will ask if I forgot to paint it, but nobody yet...lol. Maybe some day I will paint it but for now I am just enjoying it.

I am going to install some hood pins as well.

Thanks for the comments
