Default Rear Strut Cover

Just got done painting my rear strut cover. I know several people don't like the painted look, but I needed to do something to a couple of scratches and stains on mine. I like the look of those who covered it leather, but it seems that it hides the 3 'dimples' on each side of the emblem. I wanted to keep that consistant.

Anyway, here is the end result:

It doesn't match the other plastic so it looks odd. It would've been better if it was red/blue/green whatever accent color.

I like it. Looks low key, but I agree with kelsey kaye that it not matching the other interior plastics makes it look a bit odd at certain angles, like in the 1st pic.

Good job nonetheless.

Agreed that its not an exact match. I knew going into it that color would be a concern so I choose a jet black because it was close but different enough that it didn't look like I did a crappy jog of trying to match.

With a couple of scratches that went down to the yellowish material under the silver something had to be done.

I like the accent idea, but that piece is way too big to be considered an accent. The car is black on black so anthing else would have stood out like a ***** in church!

One advantage to consider in using a matte black finish is that there's less reflected glare off your rearview mirror.

I don't like it.

I would have either went matte black or a nice deep gloss black. That color is off a little, doesn't flow right.
