TL projectors in 03 350z
Any body done this? Any hints? I also have a set of tsx projectors that I want to put in a friends g35, has anybody done that? I looked at some pictures of the headlight and it doesn't really look promising.

Most 350z and G35 came with HID already so very few people would be inclined to do a projector swap. The Halogen 350z lights can take a drop in HID kit and work pretty well the same as the OEM Hid cars do. 06+ have projectors already and many 03-05 guys do retrofits from the newer cars and they are a direct plug and play.
So pretty well, there is no point to even trying a projector swap unless you are really bored and or really broke.

Yeah thats what I figured, but those headlights go for $800 and I have bi-xenons from a tl for free as well as projectors from a tsx. I would rather spend my money on something that makes the car faster or stop quicker

I'm a pretty avid member of hidplanet.com. One of the main criteria for buying my new vehicle was that it must have HID headlights.
You can put the TL projector inside of the 03 headlight housing, but it will take a lot of work. As JPsZ had said, check out that website. It will give you tons of good information.

the money and effort it will take to do this (retrofitting a different projector into the 03-05 housings) is just not worth it. get a set of the 06+ bi-xenon projectors and call it a day.
now if you got nothing but time, money, and a extra set of lights just sitting around then go for it

I partly agree with you Z04. The amount of work required for retrofitting headlights is not little. I've done about 3 projects myself and they're not easy, straight bolt-on work. It will take a lot of planning and a lot of fabricating. But in all honesty if you're skilled with your hands it's a fun, challenging project if you have the time.
As far as replacing the 03 lights with 06+ lights, I believe this isn't going to work. I was thinking of buying a 04 Z from the stealership and having them replace the headlights to 06+ bi-xenons, but they said it's not possible due to the LED in the 06+ or something like that; possibly different mounting holes (I'm not too sure of the details).
In sum, if you have the money and the time to do the job, I would say go for it. You can get some truly sexy outputs with the right combinations.
In my opinion for bi-xenons, from the best to worse:

In my opinion for bi-xenons, from the best to worse:
- TL/ZKW (ZKW Clear lenses with TL bowl)
- TFX (TSX Clear lenses with FX bowl)
- ZTi (JDM STi Clear lenses with 350Z bi-xenon bowl
- TL
In my opinion for single xenons, from the best to worse:
- LS430/TSX (TSX Clear lenses with LS430 bowl and throud)
- S2000 AP1
- TSX (Clear lens version, I think pre-05)

I plan on doing a tsx projector retrofit into my 03-05 lights. I know it wont be too hard because tsx projectors are small and the area we have to work with looks like it'll be easy to mount the projector. Ive done a HID retrofit in my 00' ek a couple years back. I used BMX x5 projectors/shrouds with Infiniti ballasts/bulbs. Judging with what i had to work with on my ek, this should be a lot easier. But it is a project you have to take you time on and carefully do the measurements/mathematics with. So if your car isnt your daily and you have a couple days you can spend on the headlights, then go ahead and do the retrofit.
