Default NO BS need a serious option!



Thats a pic of my car this past saturday @ 140mph in the BBORR.
So look at the deflection in the bumper. The previous owner had cutout a section of the front right fender liner to better hear the blow off valves..silly huh?...it didnt have an under engine cover either and I put one one and though it would be stout enough..obviously not...so I am open for suggestions for a front bumper that will handle 125mph sustained for 30 minutes X2 in this race. I need more downforce in the front and rear as well..I don't know how many of you have had your car over 130 mph, but they "feel" very light at that speed..
So all bs aside..I am open to suggestions..

Actually, just buy a new fender liner and buy the underbody plastics. Should be fine then.

Just buy any bumper that you like and reinforce it from the back with fiberglass. As for the down force buy some cannards. (or however you spell it)

ARC makes a aluminum undertray, that should strenghten up most of the front.

if you look at the crease point on the passenger side, looks like it started to buckle in the fender-liner area that started to arch down.. the stock piece is pretty stiff, but if it's cut, then that probably what caused it to buckle.. the OEM underpan attaches the sides of the fenderliner to the front of the bumper, so if that is the case i'd go with a single large splitter that you attach the entire underside of the front bumper to.. even the fiberglass ones if you don't add support will flex slightly, although i dont think would buckle like that...

if you are doing high speed runs sustained for some straight liine runs, i'd look into the Ings+1 STREAM nose.. the same one that Options used for their Silver state classic run back in the day. and do some flat paneling using kevlar or aluminite.

I was surprised to see the driver just get up and walk out... damn that was a crazy run!!

Anyway, buy a bumper made of fiberglass or FRP... No polyurethane, ABS, etc. If your running at high speeds, Fiberglass bumpers will hold up much better. Maybe Ings Type E long nose?

i was having the same thing happen to my stock front bumper with greddy spoiler and splitter. the front end was only 2" off the ground so almost all the air was being deflected by the front. i didn't have the center undertray but did have the sides. i also had 3 layers of fiberglass laminated to the backside of the bumper. at speeds over 100-110mph, the nose would flex enough to crack the paint halfway up the front of the wheel well. i could not push it hard enough to replicate myself, so there must have been a few hundred pounds of force on it.
i put some aluminum struts off the front to the rad core and it helped alot. except 3 days later i hit some roadkill at 130mph and evaporated the spoiler and splitter. it instantly felt very light on the front and the sound of a ton of turbulence. you definately need more than stock at those speeds!!!

actually now after seeing yours at speed and the way my paint was cracked, it appears like there is alot of pressure on it coming from the very bottom corners pushing in towards the center of the car. yours is creasing right where mine were. some straight braces from the corners to the rad support will fix it.
