how much would it cost to paint a hood

im getting a new replacement hood cause i bought the car and it had a hood scope on it already and i dont like it so i have to get the replacement put on and painted.
Red is a tough color to match since it fades over time. Good shop can match it but you will pay 400+ for it. Bring just the hood and save you an hours time for removal and installation of the new one.
Depends ..
if you just get the rock chips fixed and the top of the hood re sprayed it would probably be around 4 to 5 hours for labor and paint
so at $40 / hour @ 10 hours total (5 labor, 5 materials) .. that would be 400
but match could be off .. so if you want it "perfect" they would have to blend the fenders
I painted a 350z bumper at work for a older silver and it matched perfect .. just depends on the shop and what paint they use .. take it to a shop that uses ppg or other high end paint and has access to the "variant chips" to get it close as possible if you just want to paint the hood and not blend the fenders ..
EDIT .. didnt read it all the way .. you got a new hood
they usually add 2 hours or so for the bottom to be painted .. so around $500 .. just shop around at different shops, estimates are free at all major body shops

yep, but even with the variant chips, it will be hard to match pearl perfectly. i would never just paint one piece that has to do with pearl or mica.

anyways
