Default Gauge Swap Odometer Q

Hey guys, I got myself a used 07-08 Gauge with only 4k miles , my question is regarding the odometer... does the gauge cluster work with the ecu to keep track of the miles? or odometer is completly independent like my old nissan? See, i dont want to run into problems concerning my warranty, sinces I barely have 17K on my car. I got this to install a new face and swap to blue LEDs.

odometer has it's own memory of the miles
whatever the odometer reads know it will read after installation so i'll be 4k miles
i had the same deal

So your positive the new gauge will not pop out like a "mod" when ever the dealer scan the ecu for any problems and void my warranty for not having the actual reading the miles?

but if you change the whole odometer the mileage from the new one will show
mine had 17k miles on and now has 9k because i changed the odometer so you'll might have problems
but some guys said the even if you change the odometer and shows other number you can still see the actual mileage on the car on a scanner or computer

I have no idea if it will make a difference or not, but won't that come up at vehicle inspection or if you go to sell it and the person pulls a carfax?

well as long as you change it with another one with close mileage your ok bu his is from 17k to 4k so that won't go good special that some states have odometer discrepancy BS
so i'll write on your title not actual mileage

You could swap the LCD's without having to take the gauge faces off. You would have to take the tach needles off though and then put them back on. They are fairly easy to calibrate using the rev indicator light and a digital camera.

Ive taken my entire cluster apart and pulled the LCD to change the back lighting.

If there's memory, it must be in the LCD cuz there aren't any memory chips on the main board that the LCD plugs into.

I would stop into your local dealer service department and ask.
