i've noticed that for the last couple of months.. i press the button, but it won't open immediately, i have to either press it couple of times, or press and hold, release after couple of seconds.

i checked it the other day, and found out that the pin (or w/e it's called) won't release (move back), when the button is pressed. of course, it doesn't happen always, but most of the times.

what's up with that? can i fix that myself? if not, will the stealership ask for an arm and leg?

That happened to me also. But now it works fine again. I have no idea, I didn't do anything differently. But my new thing is, the button you push, falls out of place at times, so be careful pushing it in.

 

same thing happen to me, there was a thread somewhere on it. I adjusted mine by putting washers under one of the bolts of the cover. It got my cover flush with the fender and opens everytime now.

One of the last remaining gremlins with my car after the fuelfiller cap/clicking rear axle/ cold brakes squeak issues were addressed.

 

thnx for the input and the TSB.. but, i don't think that's my issue here.

it's the actuator that's not operating properly. and my car is '06 model.

 

i searched the forum couple of times now, and i can't even find a similar case.

 

did you ever take your z to stealership?
