Clear Bra ???
Hello all,
I am new here, and tried to find info on the Clear bra,
So before i get the bashing, and unless someone can send the link, How many here have installed the bra themselves , vs paying an installer,
I like doing things myself but not sure i want to mess up my newest toy
Thanks in advance...

Stock bumpers can be bought from OEM replacement stores for a little less than 120.00$ unpainted of course. Getting it painted costs about another 180-280 depending on how many people you know in the industry. If you have Tri-Stage Pearl than it's a little costly.
Iono I never been a fan of that clearbra or w.e I may be wrong but I still think it's more efficient to just get another bumper after 100k miles or whenever you think it's looking a little beat up.
Honestly that stuff isn't worth it. Unless you have a aftermarket bumper.

I'd rather pay the couple hundred now and have my front end be immaculate for the entire time I own it, rather than have it progressively get worse to the point that I have to repaint.
The clear bra will need to be replaced every so often. It will fade in the sun over time, plus you'll get rock chips etc in it as well. Just a heads up in case you didn't know that. A friend of mine uses the stuff on his Z...the thing looks MINT, but he does replace the film every few years or so to keep it looking fresh.

After the snow storm winter we had in Seattle, and sand is still on the roads. I had so many chips and pits from the road debris. I bought my Z used and it only has 3500 miles since last August.
I had the front end repainted and 3M Clear Bra put on a month ago. Not a single problem. In-fact, last 15 cars in 10 years has had it on and the front end paint still looked new where the film covered the area of the car. Including tracking a few cars.
And, I wouldn't install it yourself unless you have installed vinyl over contour curves.

About 10 companies make the film now. But I think Avery and 3M have the best product.
a local here has a good quality clear bra, covers the whole front end, he's had it atleast 2.5 years and from what I could tell there was no chipping or yellowing.
the film they use now will not yellow, at least for 7 years. i have it on my mag blk and i like it. the only bad thing is you see the edge of the clear bra and if the bra get's scuffed up, the scuffs do not come off.
i do like it though... saved my car from the occasional pebbles and stuff here in socal.

I know at the shop We have had some problems with Clear Bra Film pulling paint from OEM Pieces like hoods and such, or at least thats what customers say.
Were starting to use a fairly new product, its a Clear Bra Spray, its fairly thick in comparison to the actual clear coat, about 7x thicker. This allows you to be free of lines and such and it lasts A LONG TIME... No replacement of Film and it doesn't Fade since you can Wax and polish it.
