i did EVERYTHING to try and fit a boot on but it was near impossible....it can only be done with REALLY thin leather...i used a 6mt boot from leatherseats.com and it didnt fit...they were reallly helpful and sent 3 more boots all diff sizes to try and get it right...but in the end the leather is too thick to shove the ring back over it

for those of you who have done this mod with the momo shift boot, did you trim the 1-1.5 inches all the way around the bottom of the boot? or did u just install the boot as is? please answer!

Btw- I didn't have to cut my boot, it fit fine in mine.

Seriously, you need to shave a few millimeters of the inside diameter of the trim ring to slip it over the thick leather boot. You need a dremel tool to do this. But then again, you'll need to buy another trim ring (fairly cheap) if you decide to take the boot off and return to stock.

MOMO Performance boot....If I do go with the auto ****. Do I buy the short or long boot? BTW who's got the best price? I was amazed on the many suppliers that sell MOMO w/different prices too! Why can't I just put the boot over the OEM ****? Thanks!

I just did the boot thing this week. Got a CF looking boot made out of some kind of thin material from AutoZone. Just cut the elastic off the bottom of the boot and it went right on. Did not have to remove any tabs off the trim ring.
