Earlier in the thread someone said they broke off a tab or two from the bottom of the trim ring in order for it to fit back on with the leather. The boot I got from Auto Zone is made out of a thin CF look material and I did not have to modify (break off) the ring. The other benefit off the boot I got was that it was only $13.99 and no shipping charges.

i tried this mod a month ago... i broke off the tabs on the ring, but no matter what, it would not fit over the momo boot. i ended up scratching the **** out of the momo boot trying to get the ring on over it, until i destroyed the boot. the ring has to be modified/trimmed/shaved/dremmeled to get the ring on over it. i was wondering if someone who has trimmed their ring could also do this for me?

Thanks to this thread I did mine today. Bought my boot from Redline goods. It was specifically designed for the auto z (as far as size). Bought the **** from MOMO. Broke a tab off of the trim ring trying to force it on and ended up getting it to fit nicely. However, I keep having to slightly adjust the height of the **** when parking the car. Otherwise the key won't come out.
