Default Masking Tape Question

i'm going back up to COlumbia tomm for a while and its gonna be about a 120 mile drive or so. i'm going to clean/wax the car tonight and then was thinking about masking the front bumper/part of the hood and side mirrors to avoid rock chips and etc. some might say this is a bit overboard but i got the car last week in excellent condition and want to keep it this way as long as i can.

question is, will the masking tape ruin the wax coat after the trip and when i take it off?

Use the Blue painters tape. It doesnt leave any sticky residue and its easy to take off. Thats what i did driving my Z from Oklahoma to New mexico. You can get it from walmart or Home depot or somthing. i think i used 4 rolls. I made sure everything was covered lol.

I assume you are talking about the blue painters tape. I don't think I would use the standard masking tape. It is just a little bit too sticky.

yeh, i was referring to the blue painters tape. bought a 2'' wide one at an auto store.

4 rolls! jeez did you cover the whole car or something?
i only bought 1 roll, hopefully it will cover what i mentioned

it was almost an 800 mile drive i had to make lol. and i taped the Front bumper, Part of the hood, the mirrors and yea i taped the heck out of it. with a drive like that i figured some of it would come off during the drive and i didnt want any of the body showing in between to peices of tape. i might have went overboard but in the end i was happy when i got here and nothing was jacked. since then though..

omg i hate albuquerque roads..

Best way to do it is in layers going up and down.
