Default Roll bar has arrived!!

OK, no pics yet, sorry. Should see some here pretty soon though. I will take pics of my entire roll bar/race seat/race harness install for you guys. Here is what is going in:

Kirk 4pt roll bar modified with 2" higher harness bar and straight back rear bars.

Sparco Evo 2 Race seat on custom bracket.

Schroth 5pt 3" FIA Camlock race harness.

Raceboy,

I was wondering if you could see if those seats gave you any additional headroom vs. the stock seats. With my height it would be great for me when I have a helmet on. In some pics I have seen before, it looks as if the seat lowers by about 1 inch with the Sparcos.

Thanks,
X

You probably could get the race seat lower, but even in the lowest position, I have only gained about 1/2" of headroom.

Now on to a bigger problem; THE ROLLBAR DIDN'T FIT!!!! SOAB!!!! Anyway, I called Kirk and they are taking care of it. The problem is that I requested straight back bars for the rear. Instead of welding them to the top of the main hoop, they welded them to the sides and about 8" lower, the proble is that they now cannot clear the middle crossmember where the speakers are. They are gonna fix it, but it's gonna take time:

Was the clearance between the side of the seat and the upholstery OK? Maybe you couldn't get it that far because of the clearance problem with the speaker brace.

Everything else was fine, it was just those rearward bars.

The harness bar is actually going to be at the perfect height, I could not imagine making it any higher. The bar's finish is just a crappy spray paint finish unless you want to pay to get it powder coated. I will probably have mine completely finishished in vinyl or some other upholstery.

Any updates on the roll bar Steve? Do you think the harness bar would be at a good level for the stock seats?
