Default Window tinting

Going to get a few estimates window tint price today. Was wondering what people on these forums paid for window tinting? I'm planning on tinting the rear windshield 5%, the sides 25-35%. I don't know if tint % alters tinting price. Don't want to get ripped off. Thanks..

i paid $180 cash cnd, it can range from between $150 and $300 here, it depends on the quality of tint and how much money the place wants to make.

The $150 to $225 would be a dyed tint and the $225 to $300 would be a metalized tint.

My tint job would have been around $225 ish at most places

pics

18% all around

Being you’re from North Jersey, I had mine done twice by the same guy in Hackensack. I don’t remember his name but the # is 201-931-1400 and I think I paid $200. It came out really well but I had to take them off because I was getting pulled over all the time. I had 20% on the rear and 35% on the sides. It looks good but the constant hassle isn't worth it, just my opinion.

I paid around ~120 for 30% all around, didnt take very long either since I was their first appointment on that Saturday.

I'm thinking I should go darker though. So I would recommend atleast 20% or 15%.

Yea, its legal to have tints if you have sensitive eyes right?

Is there a special form you need signed by your doctor, or will any regular doctors note work?

The quality makes the most difference in price (not %) + number of windows. The dummy who owned my car before had the rear tinted with 70% (basically non-existent). I could have removed myself, but instead paid $90 for the tint guys to remove it. I went with Llumar Axcess (their top of line) in 15% rear window (5% is too much given that I wanted more visibility) and none on the sides (I live in CA and have been pulled over too many times already). The total was ~ $250. The tint is expensive. They had other grades; i.e ceramic, metalized, etc. Many of these affect the radio signal and if you put on a Shorty antenna you signal will be worse. The Llumar Axcess tint does not affect radio signals and has a lifetime warranty for any Llumar dealer. For what it's worth, I'm very please with the way it turned out!

paid 200$ for 15% rear 20% sides. lifetime guarantee on the tint, which I value, because my girlfriends tint is peeling a little, hers came tinted though so who knows who did it.
