Default Stock HID Question

I have an 05 Z roadster and has the stock HID. I was wanting to change the bulbs out to something a little bit brighter? Maybe 8000k. What would you recommend? and what brand

That number 8000K is a temperature. The temperature measures the color, not the brightness.

I have 6000K in my 06+ lights and I like it. They are very white with just a hint of blue. 8000K will be somewhat more blue and output slightly less light. Just so you know.

Generally the more k's the less light output. If you want brighter lights, get more wattage but more wattage is illegal in a lot of states.

For HID I believe a higher wattage bulb requires a higher wattage ballast, and then you also have to look at all your wiring to make sure it can handle the higher power. If I remember correctly most HID systems are 35 watts and the more powerful brighter oes are 55 watts. Cant remember.

No, 8000k 35w would be dimmer than stock. If you want to keep the stock brightness but something bluer, you'll need to get a 55w 8000k kit.

8000K 35w will be fine for what you want. It wont really look dimmer, just bluer.

Technically, yes: it is outputting less light, but you wont notice because your bulbs will look so nice and blue

Yes 8000k won't be brighter, but it'll be towards white/blue ... The less K the brighter it gets. Usually 3k - 6k would be nice. I have 6k on my vehicles and they illuminate the road real good without giving that aftermarket looks. You might want to also check out the 55w kits they have now =]
