Ive been thinkin about it, but a few things keep me from doin it.

1. Id have to open the dash, find all the bulbs, test the current to each, record it, and then find a suitable LED replacement; meaning order them, which means put the dash back together, then disassemble again when the parts come.

I can only imagine the rattles after that.

2. the trip computer, digital readout, and radio display are all amber, and I have no clue how to change that to any other color, so assuming I did change everything to white or blue, or red, whatever, Ill still have that amber there.

so basicly I dont see the reason at this time. or atleast I dont have the knowhow to do it ALL, so Im not gonna go through the work to do half of it.

Ares is probably right. It'll be a big job. You'd have to disassemble every single piece of equipment inside the Z that had amber illumination and replace the LEDs. Wowsers. That being said, I would absolutely love to do it! Make all the interior illumination a nice mild red, like my Audi or like BMWs. I'll have to see how I feel about the interior lighting once I get my Z. Heck, maybe I'll grow to like the amber and won't have to worry about it.

It's a shame that the idea of taking the Z's dash apart and putting it back together brings fear of rattling. I wish they could build things better than that. I've had everything apart in my Audi interior (from many various projects and a big stereo project) and I still have no rattles at all after 50,000 miles. Pulled every single dash and trim piece, pulled the instrument cluster, pulled the seats, carpet, you name it. All went back together without a hitch. I guess every car is different, though. There can always be that one annoying part that just won't stop rattling!

Ive never disassebled a dash, I dont even know how it would work off the top of my head, I just sorta assumed it couldnt be good based on the other work Ive done, if everything was screwed in, Id be all over it, but everything is clipped, and it seems they are all 1way type clips, Ive found no good way to unclip stuff, other than forcing it, which seems to lead to broken clips.

ACREE is the only one doing these. He has done red and blue so far. He is an LED genius and knows what he is doing. Just search for his username then look in his signature. The links to both conversions is in there I believe.

Yep. Acree is the guy u wanna talk to.

you can basically take your stuff apart, send it to him, he changes out all the LEDs and then he ships them back. I've been considering going with either red LED's (to match my paint) or White LEDs (high end looking)

the gauges in the center u just pull the center console off...that very easy, just a few screws.
the ones on top of the dash u have to pull the plastics from under the dash and 4 bolts hold that on. i have had my car apart about 10000 times so its always easy for me when i do it.

You should PM acree to find that out. He would be able to give you an accurate quote.
