Window tint question
Noticed when I look out the rear hatch that the rear looks like it's tinted from the factory. Kinda green. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I know that usually cars come with some sort of tint in the glass.
My question is, how much what kind of difference it would make if I had my windows tinted with smoke or mirror? Here in Hawaii, there is a 30% tint law. If I went with the smoke (black) tints, being that the tints will be sorta lite, will it also look green? What about the mirror tints. Will they also have that green tinge?
Any input from guys who have already had their windows tinted would be cool.
TIA

Was wondering about the lighter tints because my father-in-law has an 02 Maxima and his tints are at 30%. They look kinda green. Reminds me of the old "Polaroid" lenses (Ray-Ban type) shades from when they were "in".

Went with Titanium LLumar Tint $195 installed 28%
Could have gone darker. I thought 28% would be too dark as I take a lot of chances and need to see. Not so.
Go with 18% LLumar tint you won't be disappointed.

Ok, got my car back tonite.
Llumar black Ti @ 30%, my friend told me that all cars have some tint to the factory windows, so that total % came out to something around 25 to 29 %. I'll go back and check on the light meter later.
BTW, no "green" look to any windows. Will post pics tomorrow after a couple more coats of Zaino

Too bad tinting laws on MO suck.
I like the wheels. Look a lot like Mercedes AMG wheels. Very elegant yet sporty.

nice wheels
KornerCarver I dig those wheels. Nice to see something tasteful, clean, and reasonably sized in these dark days where 20" chrome is commonplace...

Reen and Crashx,
Thanks for the compliments on the wheels. They are 17" x 8" Borbet Type E wheels that I bought about 5 years ago for my Dodge Stealth. I was going to sell them but then I realized they fit the Z perfectly. I tried them out and I liked the looks so they've been on the Z ever since. And Reen, I have your carbon fiber emblem fillers and they look great. Good idea there.

In stock form my rear windows for my Z did have a green tint to it but it isn't there any more. I had it tinted a 20% non reflective quantum tint from an undisclosed source. I think that this tint is not overlly obvious but its a gamble. I live in Hilo, Hi. and can be found at my work place "Auto System Kauai-Hilo" if you want to stop by and see it. Maybe i can hook you up with a sound system. I'm designing me a custom fiber glass enclosure for an JL 8 W7 that will be powered by a JL 500-1. If not then i'm going to be installing two Alpine Type R-10's. 808_FairladyZ.

Hey ares on your rear window do you notice a slight border of untinted dots bordering the frame of the window? Cuz I tinted my rear window with 5% also and there was this little border along the frame of the window that seemed to be untinted, but in reality was tinted but still appeared as if it hadn't been.
