Welcome. It is possible to swap the odometer, and you get the miles on the new odometer. Several members have done this. Not to get a fraudulent mileage, but to swap out a broken odometer.
That said, the best indication of a odometer swap is a CarFax report. You will get a red flag that looks something like this:
10/01/2007. Emissions test. 40,000 miles.
10/01/2009. Emissions test. 30,000 miles.
Pretty easy to tell something is amiss.
