I have upgraded my HIDS to 7000K and it's way brighter than stock 4k's. And yes I have done side by side comparisons.

Now please don't get the quality HID units with ballasts confused with those 75 dollar PIAA and Razo HID bulbs. They just give you the HID colors... but are not real HID's
The lower the kelvin (K) number, the brighter the lights are. Most stock HIDs are 4100K or 4300K. Those 5000 and 6000k kits will look nice and blue but they are not as bright as OEM HIDs or 4100k HID kits. Higher kelvin produces higher color (blue/purple). But if you want brightness, go for the lower kelvin kits.
