Default Hatch Removal question

I went through the hatch removal procedure as outlined in the DIY for "Installing your CF hatch" buy rrmedicx. But I ran into a problem. I would ask the question in his DIY thread but I figured it might help to post for immediate help. In his case he was not re-installing the stock hatch so he pulled the wiring harness for the wiper through the hollow passage way (sleeve) in the hatch. I would be putting back my original hatch and realised re-running the wiring harness through the sleeve could be a nightmare. I peeled my headliner a little to see if there was a connection but found none. Looks like my only choice would be to avoid the sleeve and run it on the surface. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help

That part I know. But the same harness connects the rear defroster. Also "simple" do not use, right?

good point. that is if you actually need the rear defroster. it does get pretty cold up there and you might need it if you park outside instead of in a garage.

I am considering installing some plastic clips to hold it without going through the sleeve. I just have to ensure it does not cause any annoying rattles.

Thanks. I guess I would have to pull the headliner further.
