Default replace instrument cluster with IQ3 digital dash

Hi everyone,

I bought the IQ3 dash that plugs into the haltech, have also ordered the USM module that will allow me to read my fuel level. I would like to remove the instrument cluster ( has the rpm and speedo stuff ) but have heard that it disables the alternator or something.

Does anyone know anything about this and how I will go about doing some wiring to get my car working once the OEM cluster is removed.

Any help is appreciated.

Kind Regards,
DDD

Would love to see pics when you set it up. Just a lil advice take it to someone that can properly set it up cus it seems like it could be a nightmare of issues down the road if done incorrectly. Spend the $

hey duro78,

the iq3 dash is easy to get up and running, have it already flashing lights etc... the fuel level is getting sorted out and hopefully will have the gear thing either working or disabled...

the OEM instrument cluster is the problem at the moment as it may be connected to other stuff that either stops ur car from starting or puts it in limp mode...

am also enstalling an entire carbon fibre interior, no overlays, the real thing so pics will come once i get it all right...

You never tried to get a hold of me, so not sure what you mean?

You need a ~ 15 amp diode and a incandescent bulb (NO LED's) in line with one of the alternator wires - we did this at the cluster side of things. Follow the factory wiring schematic to find the pin that corresponds.

Hi,

Do any of you know where I can get the wiring diagrams for the 350z so my autoelectrician knows which wire is the alternator....

I read on the haltech forums that some dudes use the fuel pressure to get fuel level... does that mean there is another way of registering the fuel level on the IQ3 or do I have to buy the Universal Sensor Module...

also thought that it would be a nice to have to have the indicators flashing through the IQ3..

any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated...

OP you need to obtain and thoroughly review a service manual before even contemplating going through with this install.

it's real, and it's my car - I am quite happy with how it turned out, thanks - gives me all the data I want, right in front of me

to the OP - you absolutely need a factory service manual for the car, and yes, you need the USM to display fuel level. I don't see how fuel pressure would translate to fuel level
