I'm getting my roll cage made and put in this Friday. Anyone have any advice? Things they would have done different now that they have it installed? Cage is for drifting primarily. Tandem runs and such

i had a half cage installed..i would have like to have b pillar gussets.

if you're doing tandem, maybe u should get nascar type side impacts that come out to give you a bit more side protection.

as for the cardiff, why would the bar be lower than the top of the race seat?? imho the main hoop needs to be higher....and add a diagonal straight to the floor. instead of stopping half way to the... harness bar? sigh.

This is not a cage question, but for you guys with the Kirk roll bar, does it restrict how far back you can push the seat? Also, does the back your head (helmet) ever touch the main hoop?

I'm asking because I'm 6'4". My helmet barely clears the roof interior with the seat all the way back and down. And leg room is already tight.

A racing seat with a Planted seat mount might be a tiny bit lower than the stock seat but if the main hoop is going to limit headroom at all then I would not be able to use the Kirk.

Me being 6'1 with a Kirk bar, my seat is not even all the way back when driving on the street and about 1 inch further fwd when on the track. I custom cut the buddy club super high mount seat brackets and made them low mount. My seat could go lower, but the seat bracket design sucks and won't allow with my Corbeau seats.

I have the Kirk bar with a corbeau seat mounted about as low as I can get it (cut off bottom mounts, no sliders) and am about 5'10". I can tell you your leg room is going to be tight if you are 6'4".
I will be at the NASA-SE event at Roebling in April if you want to check it out then?

Maybe I have my seat mounted angled back more? I know if I moved mine back further my helmet will contact the bar.

What is the cage being build for, kinda looks like drag. That is the only thing a Y harness is legal for. Looks like the harness bar is set for a Y harness.

It's for drifting. The one pic the cage is not complete. The harnes bar has two more pipes going in
