Was just wondering because they offer one for the Z and the fitment (again, feedback was not on a z) is supposed to be pretty decent. Weld in of course, minimal notching and grinding.
Reviving this thread with my Kirk Racing roll bar. Powder coated illusion purple. I highly recommend doing this install with at least one or two other people. Wasn't exactly the easiest thing to get in and fitted properly. But the work is totally worth it and I think it looks awesome, as well as bring some structural rigidity.
Install difficulty with myself and a friend: 8/10. It ended up being a bit more difficult in my case since the bar was powder coated and cleared which made it a pain to get the x-bar to slide into the sleeves. Had to sand and grind down all of the powder and clear in those tiny areas to get it to work. Even then I had a hard time sliding them in without using a hammer. I may have had a rare case where this install was harder than it should have been. We kept running into problems and were borderline having a heat stroke in the Florida summer. I would think, and have heard other people have had a much easier time with this install.
hey there I like your roll cage setup and would like to get one on my Ride if you don't mind telling me where I can get one from? I couldn't find any on the net, Thank you
I have a question. I am looking into a basic 4 point cage soon. Are there really that many differences between basic 4 pt cages on our cars? I know that some attach to the rear strut tower (which seems more structurally sound) but I'm looking at not spending $3,000 for a basic cage for my safety.
Here are some that I found that don't break the bank. Obviously I have to find my own local welder to do this.
I am looking into racing with the Southern California racing clubs, Speed Ventures, Nissan Challenge, etc... Car is not heavily modified but I want to get this done so I can install a seat and harness.
A fabricator should be able to fab you a weld-in 4pt for only slightly more....mine charges 700 for a basic 4 point as long as the interior is stripped and ready. You can be guaranteed there will be extra hassle with the above options, which if your time is money will quickly surpass the cost of getting a fabricator to just whip you up a 4pt.

Ok got it. Yes, having one person do the whole project has its clear benefits, specially if they have experience with the specific car, even if it's a little more.
As to where to tie in the rear of the cage...this is about as big a crash it gets, and iirc this car had them tied into the brace vs the frame aft of the brace. But it looks like both styles would hold up if executed correctly:
Looking for more pictures of roll cages. I would like to take my drift car to car meet sometimes. How does not having interior affect the heat and noise? Looking for full drift cages. Looking for shops near Tampa to install as well.
