Default Getting rid of clunking sound when rocks hit

I'd like to know if anyone managed to get rid of the clunking sound when going over gravel, rocks, or anything that hits the underbody of the car or the fender...... And if you did, what material did you add?

simple solution, stop driving on rocks/gravel. there is nothing that will stop that from happening except not to do it.

It's what you really gotta deal with when driving a hatch vehicle, the wheel wells are inside the cabin. Gotta deal with it really unless you want to deaden your wheel well area to reduce the noise.

Right, i was referring to sound deadening. So i want to ask if anyone has done it......
I dont drive on gravel... Just that sometimes there's these scattered rocks on the road and it's impossible to see them until you're literally 5 feet away...

Spraying the inside of the wheel wells should deaden the sound at least a bit. The heavy coating would act as a mass loader and reduce vibrations in the sheet metal. You could also line the inside with regular audio type sound deadening. I'll be doing the latter this spring when I do most of the car interior with a sound deadening mat.

Edit: This question might be better answered in the audio subforum.

Is it only the wheel wells that's making the sound? What about the underbody, and sideskirts?
