Default Suede Headliner {Pics}

I have wanted to wrap my headliner with black suede for a while now. I finally got around to the project this weekend. I bought 3 yards of 58" wide suede-like material. The material was 50% off at Hancock Fabrics for only $9.99 per yard and feels and looks just like suede. It took just over 1 yard of material to cover the headliner.

Big thank you to sdZ33 for the writeup on how to remove the headliner: https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...headliner.html

That made getting it out a breeze. As far as wrapping, it was fairly simple having my girlfriend along side to help me smooth it out. Just spray the headliner with some 3M spray adhesive and work the material over the contours.

After test-fitting the newly wrapped headliner, I took it back out to let the glue fully cure. I will be painting the gray plastic pieces and either painting the visors with fabric paint or wrapping them in suede too.

I can't think of what to use the extra material for, so if anyone wants their headliner done in the Atlanta area let me know.

Finished product pictures will come later once everything is black.

You did a god job and Iam actually getting mine wrapped right now by Tonester. Once you black out the visors and all the clips it will look so much better. Nice work

Looks Ill-matic!!!!... Nice work!!! How hard was it to take off the plastic part on the headliner? That's the only reason I didn't wrap mine yet... I just painted it with the duplicolor fabric paint... You should spray you visors and all the platic pieces with that, and you'll be ready to go!

Great craftmanship and it looks beautiful. I hate that Nissan didn't make the headliner and trim pieces in black.

Thanks guys. My GF is willing to wrap the visors for me, so I think it will turn out nice.

It was a b****. The tabs that hold it on do not come off and the plastic breaks easily. But since the clips that mount to the roof are attached to the plastic piece, it will not sag if you break a few of those plastic tabs that hold it to the headliner.

wow that looks really good. I am tempting to do this. How long does it take to wrap after the headliner was removed? Do you think 2 yards will cover the headliner, visor, sunglass holder, interior lights part also?

Is this the sude fabric?

You should wrap the A-pillars too or the rear strut bar.

It took less than a couple of hours just to wrap it. Took about 15 to get it out and 5 to get it back in.

I don't think that is it. The stuff I used did not stretch willingly. It is more likely this - http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Butter...VVviewprod.htm

although the material I got had a non-sale price of $19.99 per yard.

did my door panels with the same butter suede just a few days ago, this stuff is super easy to work with. What'd you use as a backing for the suede?

this might be the next "carbon fiber interior wrapping" project for everyone here lol.. Im gonna check my local fabric store to see if they have this suede material in stock. I heard Super M 90 is good to use on fabric... I used to wrapped interior part before with CF fabric so it wasn't so bad.

Did fine with no backing.

Nice, any pics? I'd like to do my A pillars...did you have to loosen the dash panel to remove the bottom of the A pillars.

Yeah, the super 77 probably wasn't the best stuff to use...the fabric specific glue I was using clogged up.
