Tow hook hole for Aerosync?
Just sent money for my aerosync
Now I plan track the car a decent amount and I want to be able to use my front tow hook.
Can I just drill the hole on the front license plate holder like the V2 and the tow hook will be inline with the OE location? Will it crack the paint since the bumper is already painted or tear up the polyurethane?
Searched but couldn't find anybody that's done this.
Thanks!

Looking at mine the hole will not line up with the flat area for the license plate. This is what I posted in the other thread:
This will become an issue for me too. I will need a tow hook that is pretty accessible. I was thinking of instead of using any type of oem or drilling I would use this:
But I would like to see anyone that may have a tow hook solution for this bumper.

I'm gonna wait till I get mine and take a look at it. If there's space, maybe I'll try to make a Z-bracket by cutting off an OE tow hook and weld a L-shaped piece onto the end of it (assuming the OE hook location is higher than license plate holder)
I don't know if that strap will work since once there's tension on it, it's gonna want to go straight up into the bumper.

I considered drilling/tapping a hole for the OEM tow hook on the bottom of the alum bumper support so the hook points straight down. Otherwise I am just going to drill holes and install a custom "hook" that I can hook the strap to, pointing downward enough that it will not pull up on the bumper.

Yeah thinking about the physics a bit more, the thing u gotta be careful when moving the tow point lower is that you'll end up creating a moment which could bend the attahment point which is bad
oh and don't use the aluminum cuz no way it'd be strong enough

I will have to look at the car again and see if there are any steel core support areas that I could weld a hook onto and use the strap to give me length to the front of the bumper.
I guess at the end of this year my car is going to be a track car only so I could just drill a hole or slot into the bumper itself and go with function over form, but I will be looking at my options soon so I will follow up with what I end up doing.

yup thats me. Honestly I bought this bumper third hand so I'm not even entirely sure that it is an aerosync, your guess is as good as mine. I didn't know they tow hook didn't line up when I bought it, so after a hole and some notching I got this $50 ebay tow to fit. The stock tow hook would never work. There is a pretty substantial notch in the bumper, I'll try to snap some pics on the next sunny day and show the surgery that went into installing this.

please do! That'll help a ton. Plus I'll have a chance to see it at Zdayz too. That's exactly how I want mine to look (with the red tow hook too!)
So i'm guessing the ebay tow hook doesn't have any bends in it either? Just straight out from the OE bolt location?

Sorry folks, I've been busy trying to get zdayz om the road and getting work and everything else done. Also rewiring the entire chassis harness ... the list goes on and on. To answer one question the tow hook is straight and it in the OE location, I'll try to get a pic of the cuts and hole I had to make for it this week. I need to take the bumper off any way, grrrr. Really thinking of putting quick releases on the fricking think as often as I take it on and off.
