Front License Plate holder
When I picked up my Z last fall, I made sure the dealer did not install the stock license plate bracket. After a few close calls with the VA "Boys in Blue," I decided that I HAD to mount my front license plate, but didn't want to drill the bumper cover.
I looked at kits that were out but didn't find one that I liked, so I made this one. What do you think?
Parts included:
One aluminum L-stock 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/16" thick, and cut it to 12" long.
One 5/8" I.D. aluminum square stock cut to 2-3/4" long.
One metric bolt, 16MM x 90mm long with washer
Two metric screws with lock nuts and washers, 5MM x 18mm long
I found all of these at my local home improvement store.

I drilled an 11/16" hole in the center of the L-stock and ran the bolt through the washer, the L-stock and the square stock, threading it into the tow hook hole in the aluminum bumper.
The bottom of the L-stock rests on the top horizontal grill slat, and the square stock keeps the entire assembly rigid.
Notice the smaller holes, drilled at 10-3/16" apart for the stock license plate bracket to mount.

Nice job Roark
Kind of looks like one of my first designs...I decided not to mount to the tow hook and rather took the grill mount route with my final design...pm me if you want my reasoning for this...paint the mounting hardware black and it will blend into the grill

Ok....at the risk of sounding like I'm trying to sell more 'Zee-Bracket's..here's why I originally passed on the tow hook mount idea...in a front end collision, anything in the tow hook receptacle could easily get jammed in there making towing impossible without further damage to the suspension..please be carefull about putting anything in the tow hook receptacle
And yes...I'd always like to sell more 'Zee-Bracket's
