Don't do it.. I've been a detailer for 9 years and hate dealing with those things. If the car is taken care of properly there is no need for the clear bras. They will cause more harm than good eventually. By that I mean the paint which is exposed to the weather will be a different color than the paint under the bra.

If worse comes to worse simply repaint the bumper later down the road which I had done for $200.

thx for the info, that is what my gut was telling me, but have heard mixed opinions... dont drive much and stays in the garage.
Just bought the complete zaino stuff, cant wait to try it out.. what do you use? Does the aerospace 303 work well for cleaning the trim and protecting or just protecting? Considering that stuff based on some reviews, but soince you are a pro would like your thoughts.

Here's a few of mine. I've got 3M clear bra on 1/3 of the hood, all of the bumper, front fenders, handles, portions of the side skirts, and rear fenders.

Don't skimp, go with the 3M or other premium clear bras.

You can repaint the bumper and do that everytime a new stone chip appears, every year...etc etc. Or you can protect it with the bra. 3 years I've had the same bra on the fenders and no color difference but I take care of it. If you take care of it like you're telling OP to properly take care of the paint he'll be fine. Or OP can go ahead and not get the bra and deal with white spots from stone chips everytime he drives it.

^Personal preference I suppose. I can't detail plastic so opt for a painted surface. I do my own rock chip repair as well. The pics look good but we both know the plastic edge sticks out like a sore thumb if you look at the car in person.

Chad, I wasn't fond of zaino products personally but I'm coming from a different perspective. I wetsand most of the cars I work on and require something a bit more abrasive like Meguiars 105.

However, the aerospace products are amazing for interior trim and dash. If you want to touch up the exterior trim then pick up Black Wow, its a bit expensive but a little goes a long way and lasts much longer.

PM me if you have any other questions. Didn't mean to take your thread off track.

I post on meguiars also, here is one of my jobs.

I'll post some pics of mine in a little bit, I had my entire hood, fenders and bumper done.
The edges are wrapped where they could be so it minimized the look of the vinyl. I spray wax it, keep it clean and garage kept. I'd much rather have this protecting the paint than not.

Clear bra on the entire front bumper, partial fenders and hood. You really can't see it at all from 5 feet away. If you live in a rough area, it will literally save the life of your paint. After 6 months of living in Colorado my entire front end was peppered with chips and each chip started rusting shortly after even with the car garaged (factory nissan paint is crap!). 2 years after replacing the bumper and repainting the entire front end - i can find 2 tiny chips outside the clear bra and that's it.

I"m currently getting mine installed on a DB. Honestly its been hell, first try was subpar, peeling on the edges, obvious section lines. Second try had dirt under the film.

Hopefully third time is a charm.

The lesson? Shop around, especially if you have an aftermarket bumper that requires some custom work
