Default cf hood w hood suprt shocks..any luck?

so i didnt think these hood support struts i bought would end being anywhere NEAR this heavy duty.. theyre literally 400 percent what they need to be to keep this hood up...zero way to close this hood now.. so they are going back.

But I see ppl on google images etc running seibon hoods w gas shocks... any input on what brand to get etc? I have a veilside ver 2 hood, all carbon, no f glass inner... and its super light and super thin....

why do i want hood shocks?

Because opening this hood in wind is like asking for it to snap right off and fly down the street.
I just had this experience..caught it before all that happened luckily, but the lift is insane when the wind catches it.

That's probably because they are not designed for use with carbon fiber hoods, the cf hoods are too light and the dampers have too much pressure in them. I picked up my NRG hood dampers from JDM Autosports, you might want to check with them to see if they make hood dampers specifically for cf hoods.

I used to have Tein's hood dampers on my Seibon. They worked just fine but it was a little overkill for me. They're sitting in my garage now...

Default hood

no i gotcha, i know its becuase its lighter.. haha, cmon now.

POint is that i wanted to know if anyone HAS or HAD hocks that DID work on light hoods.

The veilside is full carbon too, no fiberglass underside, so its realy flexy.

Think those teins would work? If so, I may scoop em from ya.. pm me if you think it'd work. Guess I can call tein too. And Ill cal lthat shop as well. Thanks.

ANyone else, please post.

I've been looking for them too, but had no luck to be honest. No local stores have em, and using regular ones is pointless. If you have luck let me know man, :/
