Default Tommy Kaira Shift **** question

How do you guys align the turtle to face forward? I'm not using a finisher. Thanks.

I made my own spacer to go over the threaded portion of the shifter. I got a brass spacer from Lowes, 0.375"IDx0.5"ODx1". I had to grind the ID out a little to get it to fit over the 10mm threaded section of the shifter. I cut it to about 5/8" long, slid it on the shifter so it fills the space between the threads and the expanded section of the shifter.

Then I screwed the TK **** on pretty tight. You can grind the end of the spacer to fine tune the length so the **** aligns properly.

What exactly is the advantage of having a $200 shift **** that looks like a fossilized mushroom that's been sprayed with aluminum paint?

I was skeptical about them at first. Read my "review" here...

One thing I didn't mention, it is significantly shorter than the OEM ****, giving you the added advantage of a short-throw shifter.

Thank you. I'll give that a try.

^^^ Based on some of the comments in the other TKHB thread, I tried several different ideas before settling on the metal spacer solution.

Mine is on crooked as all hell with the turtle facing the drivers seat.

I guess I'm a bad owner.

Ha mine too. I was going to be posting this exact question up. I thought of making a spacer, but didn't know if there was a legit way of doing it. Guess a spacer is the legit way.

When you took your OEM **** off, surely you noticed that it used a metal spacer ring already. Unfortunately, it's too short to do any good with the TK ****.

^I didn't even see that there's a spacer on there already.

I have to take the **** out again after the car show tomorrow. In the meantime, the turtle has to do it sidewayz.
