We all know you were one of the pioneers for LED anything, at least on our boards, and are still considered to be among the best, but to attack someone who is trying something different (you were doing something different back then, too) is just unprofessional. I seem to recall some people calling your work "rice."
It's one thing to point someone in the right direction with guidance, advice, and encouragement, but it's another to denigrate someone personally, disparage their work, etc. You gain respect with the former and you lose respect with the latter. If you don't want to help the guy improve his methods in a positive way, just let it be. He will eventually figure things out, just like you did or give up like certain others.
Just my 2 cents.

P.S. - I still regret not taking up your offer on doing the conversion in my Z.
Andrew, leave the guy alone, man. Everybody's gotta start somewhere. I've seen your work (quite a few, in person and in pictures) when you first began doing these conversions and they weren't perfect in the beginning, either. How many different versions and methods have you tried to "perfect" (a subjective term) it? It was after various attempts were you satisfied with the outcome.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised at acree's response, and would have never thought he would post something like that.

For reference ....what nissan actually uses on the 06-08 models...
SnapLEDs by Lumiled
Each LED outputs about 11 lm, we have 16 visible LEDs facing back per side, thats about 176 lm under normal operating temperature
hey hey, im working on a q45 retro..

Now Flip is in here. Sheet, where is my popcorn. *searches*
1 mean, I'm rootin for ya. Mostly cause Acree has gone on to other platforms and doesn't do these conversions anymore (like the built in rear view mirror V1 radar---simply sick) & flip just does turnsignals.
But at the end of the day this is entertaining. Ya guys have to admit that.

And in respect to your headlight work I'll post this:
when u say under normal op temps, do you mean with just the running lights on?
No..40 to +100 °C
By chance do you know the lumens when we hit the brakes? (better yet, do you have a lumen calculator you can point me to?)

Here are the white 10mm led specs.....

Here are the red 10mm led specs.....

Here are the orange 10mm led specs.....

And here is the mcd to lumen calculator that Flipper Z provided....

I am open to any help at any time from anyone to make a project I may be doing,better......I agree that negativity towards any ones project is uncalled for. Everyone has there opinion, yes, but to just come on and tear down someones creation because you know of ways that it could be made better.....Thanks for the reference Flip....cant wait to see the finished product on the Q45 retro.

Now that the spec sheet is posted, I'll wait patiently until either Acree or Flip can break it down in terms I can understand. (constructively of course)
Thanks mean for posting the sheet. I think these will be great. I'm still on the fence between you and flips design. Both are incredible. And the fact that you both are in here talkin civily is great as well. In the end we'll all learn from eachother and that's always a good thing.

Hey Flip, I noticed in the pic for your headlight retro that it looks like you cut the back of the headlights out where the adjust is. You may have done it for a specific reason...maybe fitment of the Q45 projector...
..... But, if it was to get the OEM setup out, you can use a flat head and stick it in the adjust gear on the back and turn it until the OEM projector and internals come out, Just go from top adjust to the bottom adjust, back and forth until it comes out. It took me a while to get mine out but it leaves you with a cleaner housing and not as many holes to seal back up.
Interesting specs,do you know who the manufacture is? I would never imagine they made 300mA LEDs, specially a standard round 10mm LEDs. According to the conversion wizard , each LEDs output is about 143 lumen , however you still gotta figure out how to capture all the raw light and throw it further down the road...
You know,if it gets too complicated, these headlights dont necessarily have to be functional , they can be "showoff" lights....you will definitely call some attention on a car show...
