Meguiars Plastic X...really works !
Just did the driver side headlight with this stuff then buffed with a lil wax...They almost look brand new aside from a few stone chips that were too deep to remove. I was starting to get mild clouding around the edges and it was bugging me so thought I would give this a try. Worked great. I will get some pics of the passenger side since its not done and the driver side for comparison here in a few mins

Used the buff wheel that came with the kit. I figured it would not last but as simple and fast as it is to do I can just redo it as needed. Car sits out in the sun 8+ hours a day when at work

It does work but the results are not permanent. Best way to achieve a permanent result is to sand the headlights and then clear them. I do a couple of sets of headlights everyday at the body shop I work for.

Spent less than 5 mins a side on them then used some meguiars wax after I was done. 15 minute project so if I have to redo in the future its a pretty simple deal. If the car were newer I would probably try and find something to keep it from happening again but its a 04 w/ 50k so its not spotless anyway

I thought about doing that but I haven't done that type of thing since shortly after HS and I am to afraid of screwing up my lenses. What do you use like a 800 grit wet or ?

Depends on how bad the headights are. But usually I wet-sand them with 600 or 800 and then go over with 1200 grit. However I would not suggest using the clear coat that they sell in a rattle can.
