Ya Im not getting a g35(where's the loyalty) and not interested in a beater truck cause I would be driving it daily and I bought my z to drive it not just to look at it. Now I gotta make work for my girl. Haha

Back to the g35> it doesn't have any such bracing(ie the cubbies) in that area and its not falling apart. Maybe some gt-spec braces underneath would help? Really trying to avoid adding any bars inside, but a sparco harness bar be ok, seem to sit high enough to still get the dog into the space.

Just don't want to go through all this and take an on ramp going 80 and something happen. Or do something that renders my car worthless cause I fudged up the structural integrity.

I am no expert but I dont see the cubbies having much structure support at all.

But there are a couple harness bars that sit up even higher then the sparco one... ( I think the avalon??)

May not be a bad idea regardless.

I'm going to second (or third) the rear cubbies having much structural support if any... Look at the G35, my ex GF had one and I swear the back of the back seat in hers would line up with our rear strut bar.

Once you pull out all the wasted space back there I have no doubt that you could fit a small back seat. Again, look at the G35.

If you KNOW you've got the metal working, upholstery working and interior fabricating skills to do it. And the time and money to do it. GO FOR IT!

I've considered it a few times, mainly for audio install.. I've got the skills, just not the time

So I Hope I don't go down as the idiot that fowled up his z. But im gunna do this!! I have full confidence in my abilities to produce an amazing fit and finish, so I've decided to commit.

Forgot about my 2 amps I got to work into my design somewhere. And have to gather some supplies. Need new speakers so they match my front ones. And got to find the right upholstery foam. (help, online-vendors may work)

Hopefully I can finish it in little over a month. But I'm not rushing it. It has to be top notch before I call it finished. Starting early tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Still dont know what to do about structural rigidity! Wish I had a more definitive answer.

Seat belt bar if you feel you really need support but I don't think its neccesary if your not removing the one in the trunk

hahaha thats hilarious lmao @ turtlez good one.

imust say awesome job with going forward on this. I was starting to think nobody did stuff to their cars in here unless it had to do with audio. I didnt realize how useless that stuff was in the back. From one interior cutter to the next kudos my friend. Hope all this turns out like the rendering if not still thumbs up for having the ***** to do this. I will personally donate to restore your car if you biff it up haha.

Remember that if you add a harness bar it must be at the proper height to provide proper shoulder belt angle, otherwise you risk serious injury to YOU. Great project!
