Any progress OP?

 

I cant get my hands on a G35 back seat, and as it sits now I need that seat to do any more. gotta see eat its gunna meet up up my new panels

I found a couple on G35driver but I don't want to pay $200 to have it shipped to Kansas. Not to mention no one wants to sell me just the bottom half. I am now considering covering the hole to the trunk with the back half of the seat if I have to buy it. And on top of that I don't have enough posts on G35driver to post a proper WTB:

 

have you checked to see if any local junk yards have any?? I am sure there is members on here that might be able to help you score a back seat(post a wtb thread here looking for G35 backseat)

 

it took awhile but I finally found a couple seats through random part outs but they're all out of town. I'm down to junk yards if I don't buck up and pay a fortune for shipping. but I have to get one asap I'm ready to finish this up.

not a lot of G35 coupes layin around kansas waiting to be parted out

edit- jackson, see if you find a buyer, they can ship through greyhound for pretty cheap as well, but youd have to pick them up from the station

alright lets stay calm. I can assure you this is driving me MORE CRAZY than it is you.

looks like $325 shipped for both the bottom and back rests and no console, is the best I can come up with. just holding out for a day to see if I get any local feedback (cheaper+faster)

we will know soon enough if it fits. appreciate everyone offering to help, I'm just gunna have to pay to ship it.

just sucks cause it costs more than I'm payin for the seats.

oh just wait till you take it out and hear rocks and sand hitting the wheel wells, ouch! not to mention a loud whining that I believe is the fuel pump.

But it sounds like you (SQBASSHEAD) are doing this for more stereo equipment more. Thats the fun part of this project for me.

definitely putting some sounds deadener down, wheel wells especially. but should sound better once I fit the seat on top as far as the fuel pump sound

oh and I purchased the seat should be on the way! I'm going to try and put the back half in too since I bought it but I don't now how I'm gunna bolt that back half down. plus I bet I have to modify that piece quite a bit.

 

Maybe you can create a brace(this would also strengthen the area where you removed the sheet metal) that you can mount the rear half of the seat to.

Idk. . . thats kinda what the strut bar does(bolt to that), it's still way strong through there, its more right behind the front seat between the b pillars that needs some support

 

It rattles bc of my subwoofer, 140+ DBS tends to put some stress on tall the tabs and well sure enough now it started to rattle more an more, but if I hold the plastic down, kinda push on it, it stops or quiets down ALOT...lol

But I know what u mean about the noise on the wheel well, my trunk is gutted, not one single peace of plastic or foam on the back, lol, everything I down to the metal and stops at the speaker funny crap that u took out, this is the only thing that's still intact, lol

But ivqould deff recomend sound deadning everything while u can, it's not going to heart, lol, cost a little more but it will quiet everything down, onlybdown side is the extra weight but I don't think that's a concern to you,


So when is the expected delivery date??? I cant wait for the outcome...lol
