I used plastidip before and same thing happened to me once. I just peeled it off and repainted it.

Questions for you, did you have any trouble when peeling off your masking tape and the plastidip peeling with it due to over spray? I had this happen to me, I am new to this, guess I could of used a spatula or something?

What I was told recently from someone who PD'd their emblems is that if you use a few strips of painters tape around the area rather than larger pieces it is easier to remove.

I would suggest using a criss-cross pattern with a few strips at the edge of your item and it should make it easy to remove.

Thanks I'll try this

Its not that easy when you have to wait 30 minutes between coats, by your third coat the overspray has pretty much hardened up. I'll try this and pull the tape directly after the last coat see if I have any better results. Although I like the idea of going around painted area with a razor. As long as the piece is not on the car.

Has anyone used the off-the-shelf black color Plastidip spray to re-do the window control console surrounds from the doors on the Z? Does the end result have the same rubberized matte finish as the stock pieces?

^ Yep, the trim piece around the window controls on the door. You applied the off-the-shelf black pastidip to it? From that distance it looks pretty much like the OEM finish. How does it look and feel up close in comparison to OEM?

You have to peel the tape while it is still wet
