Default cracks on the windshield

I recently attempted to remove the rear view mirror without exactly knowing how to. Now i have 3 major line cracks from inside of the car. (i was trying to pry off the double sided tape thing that holds the mirror base against the windshield )
Should i get it fixed (how much?), replace with OEM, replace with lexan (how much?), or leave it as is?
The rear view mirror base isn't holding well against the glass now.

A bunch of crack looking things in the pic were there when i purchased the car. Looks like it's jst the black part ripped off.

Isn't lexan not very safe? Just get a new windshield, oem or not if you don't like the cracks. If you don't want to replace it, I heard nail polish clear on the cracks helps to prevent them from further cracking. I did that to my windshield and its help up fine.

i don't mind the cracks as long as the windshield all of sudden shatters on my face while driving.lol

windsheilds are laminated. meaning they do not "shatter into your face as you drive" with something as minor as a crack. now a 2x4 coming at you on the freeway may be cause for concern, but not just a crack. they will grow over time though and impair your vision, and its a reason for a cop to give you a ticket. look up how to do it next time instead of pulling on **** till it breaks.

you should just get a new windshield man

also it isnt double stick take that hold that piece on for the rearview mirror - its a two part watery glue that is adheres VERY well once on. You can find it at any good auto parts place. its a blueish color i think? comes in a tube with a foamy type applicator tip and you kind crack the little tube inside the bigger tube to activate the glue. you will know what im talking about if you get it.

Who ever you call to replace the windshield, make sure they know how to replace one on a 350Z or it could possibly end up like mine. An extreme example but this guy did not know what he was doing.

oh i see. double sided tapes can't be that strong enough to hold the hanging rear view mirror.

if repair costs less than replacing it, i rather get it repaired.
You know the black sticker thing on the top center part of the windshield, where the mirror is. What is it for?
If i remove the mirror completely along with the fixed base, the black sticker thing will come off.
