Default Variable Window tints?

Does anyone know if this exists? Tinting that can be controlled by the user through either electricity or LCD? That would be nice to be able to change your tint percentage when needed.

well it could operate on the same principle as the autodim rear mirror. but on a large peice of glass like that; Id imagine it will be EXTREMELY expensive to say the least.

You can roll the windows up and down. That'll change the tint color. =p

It's possible, but the cost would be so prohibitive you'd have to Bill Gates to afford it (and no, I'm not kidding about the Bill Gates part). They have windows in certain high-priced houses and buildings, but those are flat sheets and are costly enough as it is...add in the curve of the windshield and you might as well create your own Operating System to sell.

not EXACTLY what you are asking either; but it would be sorta cool if they worked like eyeglasses that get darker and lighter. that probably wouldnt be unbeleivably expensive.(tho high enough)

but you couldnt adjust it; just deal with it as it goes with the sunlight.

yeah they do, but not for automotive use (and the price is crazy) The original was white, when power is applied to it the tint would become clear. Newer version is like tints, its dark till power is applied. It works like electric blinds. The 'substance' between the glass blocks light when no power is applied. when you add a charge, the 'substance' lines up and allow light to pass.
It maybe possible to tint the hatch, but for all windows it probably cost as much as the Z.
