Xenon Effect?
Hey everyone,
This is my first post on the forum. I have had my Z for 9 months now. Love the car. (probably too much, as most of us do).
I have the base model and am looking for nicer headlights. I don't want to install a kit/mod the car. Is there anything I can do, to replace the factory bulbs, and get a brighter, possibly blue (xenon), effect?
THANKS SO MUCH!!

dont get those stupid halogen bulbs, those will just burn out your wires. If you want the real thing (which i recomend) get the HID conversion kit. They have them on ebay,i dont know which ones are good or not,i have the stock xenon.

if you do it right; this is one conversion that you wont mind doing; might not be the answer you want; but halogen bulbs are typicly just tinted blue; kinda kills the point. they arent nicer; they are actually alot weaker.
best bet for you is to lurk around and wait for a totalled Z to come along and then buy his ballasts and lenses. viola OEM HID lights.

You dont want to change the high beams to xenon. The constant on/off of high beams will burn them out too fast, that is why they still use halogen high beams. BMW and MB use Xenon high beams, but they actually rotate the lens to focus the light, not by turning on a second set of lights.
