Default Seat Opinions

Does anybody know if the seats in the pic are good? How about the one on the right side? They are the same seat. Thanks! They are called Recaro SRD. Opinions?

nice seats IMHO, but then again I'm biased to Recaro.

Alot better than Tenzo's in the background!!

Are they better than the stock Z seat? How do they compare to the touring leather seats. Obviously no heat and leather but what else?

What do you mean when you say skinny? Do you mean not obese or do you mean SKINNY like no fat no muscle skinny? I am 6' and 190 lbs. with a goal of 210. I am not huge or anything but I am not a tiny person. Shoulders are wider than waist, etc. Do you think I will fit in these seats without a problem?

as with any seat you should definatley sit in it before you buy it. The SRD is a narrow at the hips but you should be fine in the shoulders. Ask the person selling to measure them and see if you fit. But yes they are way better than the stock Z seat. Not to say the stock seat is bad, cause it is excellent but the SRD is better.

Oh and the stock EK9 and DC2 seat look identical to the SRD but the shoulders on the SRD are actually wider.

Ok so when you say narrow at the hips how would you compare that to the Z hip area. My waist and upper upper leg area is ok but the sides of my legs halfway between the knee and hip sort of ride on top of the bolsters. Not too bad, but enough to make me want another seat. Do you think the Recs are any wider on the bottom section than the stock Z seats or are they more narrow or what? Thanks.

Wasn't there a car mag that recently did a review of a *ton* of aftermarket seats? I believe it was Sports Compact Car. They had 4 different guys, from small to big, each sit in all the different seats and rate them on how they fit and felt. I'll see if I can dig up the article since it was one of the mags I subscribe to.

yah you should sit in the seat first before you buy it... my friend weight about 180 and he sat in my seat and it wasn't that comfortable for him... there isn't really that much room to move around which is the whole concept

unfortnately in sport compact car they did not test those specific seats (unless i'm missing a page). they did try the following recaro seats (waist size / fit)

recaro sport topline and the recaro style
28": loose
30": loose
32": loose
34": just right
36": just right

recaro sport trendline
28": loose
30": just right
32": just right
34": just right
36": just right

i'm pretty close to your dimesions and tried those seats and they were a bit tight on the sides.. i tried the sparco milanos and those fitted great

The only problem I have with the Milanos is they are twice as much!

DeeZee, the guy has the black ones which is going in my car and the red ones also in stock. If you like the red ones let me know.
