Halo housing...something not quite right.
Hey everyone. Been a while since I had a post but I'm looking into possibly the clear STi lens as well as possibly doing the "Ironman" halo rings. I was just looking at my lights and I noticed something strange about them. The area where the ring is supposed to shine through doesn't exist.

Compare that to this image I pirated from block8head (sorry) shows the difference.

I have an 08 Enthusiast Z and was just wondering if that model doesn't have the cleared portions or if my Z is just not normal.
Thanks for the help.

It's actually not that difficult as I've done about 3 WRX/STi headlights. As long as you follow a DIY you'll be fine. Just make sure that when your baking your headlights you wait till the oven is preheated otherwise you'll have a melted plastic mess in your oven lol.

heat gun =safe route?
super directional extreme high heat?
Not a chance.
It may have worked for you, and I cant attest to that.
But the oven is far far far safer. It just sounds crazy. Its not an inferno in there. Its set to 100 degrees hotter than Iraq, thats it.
250 degrees convected over the entire area at a steady pace and done evenly.
Far safer. FAR FAR safer.
