+1 , better off spending the money on some sticky tires and light weight wheels, maybe even a single exhaust (single exhaust is around a 40 pound savings)

And i will hit the local track like i said. Why does it seem that no matter how often i say that "I WILL BE HITTING THE TRACK" nobody pays attention to that. I also am not gonna drive for hours to get to the next closest track just whenever i wanna have a little fun. Everyone needs to stop being so judgmental. I am not taking shots at anyone but everyone seems to be taking shots at me. So to all the people saying this keep it at the track talk. Let me ask you this. Have you ever got on it in your Z or any other car here and there when the moment presented itself, or do you just cruise around all day? As a Driver for over 15 years i can safely say i haven't driven any car from a ford f-150 to my old S2K that at one point or another i haven't tested out on public roads. But as i stated before ONLY WHEN I AM BY MYSELF WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND.

Want a light car? Buy a Honda hatch and there you go, a light weight car.

single exhaust is lighter sounds better and good to big for a turbo setup. osiris is easy and awsome no piggy back ********. do what u want for turbo but i bet you will always have a stock block. u can make more than enough power with a single. plus you will be able to see it sitting there all pretty unlike the twin setup..just my 2 cents

What size are your rims? Stock brakes?

If you're really serious about weight reduction you should be looking at rotating mass. Some 17" RPF-1s with some two piece rotors would help you out quite a bit. Probably more than getting a bunch of CF parts.

If you're super serious about weight reduction you should do some cardio. The driver's weight is a factor as well.

If you're really super serious about weight reduction you should fill your car with helium. That will make it super seriously light.

lol ambushphoto i like the way you think. i was either gonna go 17's or 18's and a lightweight rim is a must.

17's are great but some (RPF1's) won't fit over a 14inch BBK , 18's have better tire sizing. I wouldn't even bother with the hatch , if you must just install the plexi window in the factory hatch for the weight reduction.

BTW what track do you go to?

Race seats also help a lot with weight reduction, stock seats are heavy as hell. They don't hold you in very well on the track/corners either.

haha. im not even reading to page 2... inbeforethelockonanymentionatALLonfwyorstreetracing.... now you know OP.. cant even be hinted at on here, dont get butt hurt.

everyone is banging youfor it becuase its like THE golden rule of the forum.. you dont think everyone esle on here speeds ( of course we dont/.. or do we) .. theyre just letting you know you cant even hint at mentioning it on this forum due to rules and liabilities.

heres the deal, theres a huge thread on weight reduction already, thres no one who makes a carbon fiber roof for the coupe, they are ALL overlays and ADD weight.

There is also a thread on the weight of all body and interior pieces already..

AND.. to strip a "couple hundred pounds" will require you do every single option avail.

Welcome, please use search, and now you know.

Probably the best weight savings carbon fiber part would be the carbon fiber hatch + aftermarket glass, to do that in one shot would save a good amount of weight I would think.

I'm not sure of your priorities though, it's always cheaper to remove the passenger seat, interior, spare tire etc.. aftermarket speaker box , etc..

Best post so far...

I too was into carbon fiber, but after reading about it. Now knowing that parts from aftermarket are just for show!

Seriously read the following, starting with my favorite!

Pointless, the 17x9.5 +18 already sits pretty far out, i would have needed a 15 or 20mm spacer to make them fit over the brake. With the spacer installed there is no way a 275/40-17 would fit. There are other 17's that fit over a 14 inch BBK, just not Enkei.
