That's what I figured thanks.

They sure do a pretty good job making them look like Bride seats. Another one with the Kevlar for the price of two.

they can legally be sold as bride (just not bride of japan) because bride never fully trademarked their stuff, and reps are taking over. youll pay a pretty penny for real ones. i was 1700 deep in some slightly used ergo 1's. id recommend buying from a reputable shop or if your budget is tighter, corbeaus are effin sweet and used sparcos go for $400-ish per seat depending on the model

Word. Authentic Bride's and rails will set you back for sure.

You could also save some money on using Buddy Club rails. True Bride rails are $$$$. Also check out morejapan.com, sometimes they have sales.

i dont think i could sacrifice my saftey and passengers safety for the sake of buying a fake seat with "free rails". in an accident thats what keeps your *** mounted to the car. heres an example of ebay engineering

There are other real/authentic seat options besides Bride. I just wouldn't buy "replica" or "fake" seats. I would buy a cheaper, proven seat before that.

Why are you going back? Are they not comfortable? I am even thinking of buying these fakes, they look good and for 2 and the seat mounts....not that bad of a deal....What is the safety difference between the bride and these fakes I wonder?

I spent around 2k each for my Bride Gias. But well worth it to me since safety is important.

LMAO, after watching that someone should buy the fake brides and compare them to the real brides.

lol its one thing to buy a replica bodykit because its just for looks... buti'd hate to see a forum member get in an accident and fly through his windshield still strapped to his ebay brides.

Are they crash tested at all? I know any real of "fake" part can fail, but why take a bigger chance on something that just may not be proven to hold up well in a car accident.

I would be wary of their quality. The issue is that since they are racing seats not designed for street use they arent DOT (or TC for the ones produced by the company that registered the trademark in Canada) approved.

I would be apprehensive about folding back seats at such a low price point...there is potential there to get seriously hurt if the quality isn't there especially during a rear end collision. Fixed back are a different story as those are pretty much all 2 layers of fiberglass across the board from your reps to high end recaros and you're mainly paying for fabric and cushion quality. I honestly don't trust 90% of the folding back aftermarket seats out there, knowing that even some oem manufacturers who crash test don't always get their seats 100% right. How many of you know someone with back issues after getting rear ended? I'm not implying that oem manufacturers get it wrong, but more so that this is something not to take lightly.

OP, if you really want to consider rep Brides, you might be better off looking at these from a safety standpoint:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-2-BRIDE...item19c8ec888c

fabric might not last but as long as you DON'T run a 5 point harness (i'm assuming you have no rollbar/rollcage) you'll be safer with these vs those GIAS
