Just wondering if there are any pictures of Either a stock Z or one with just a Lip kit in either matte white or black.
I realize some cars can pull off the oem matte look but others cannot.
I'm just curious to see how it would turn out.
Pictures or input would be greatly appreciated.

IMO,doing a matte finish in any color on a stock looking Z will just not look good.
Its just gonna look "unfinished".The car needs some body/wheel/suspension mods
that will go with a matte finish.
A matte car to me looks competition, aggressive.Bone stock just does not mix.
The black Z in a post on this thread illustrates my point.Just needs more.Without more mods to compliment
the matte,it borders on ricer. The wheels, especially the rears, cry for some serious spacers!

I agree,unless this guy has a thing for doing matte,with a stock looking Z,
I'd repaint a color NEW to a Z.Depending on your tastes,I'd suggest a
dark classic,British Racing green.Or,a much darker charcoal gray.
These shades have not been done as a OEM color.
No browns or golds!

The reason being that my car is quite old and because of it has suffered some wear and tear on the paint. All really small things like rock chips, little streaks, the works. I wish I could post close up pictures to show you what I mean.
It may not be noticeable at first glance but when you look up close its very hard to ignore it.
I was considering doing a wrap, b/c I have an experienced friend who happens to have just enough matte white wrap left for my Z.
I was also quoted $5000 - $6000 for a paint job. Seems kind of high. Wondering if quality paint jobs can be done cheaper down south.
My set up will likely be running wheels and coilovers. Nothing too fancy, 19" Te37's with Bilstein Pss10 coilovers. Just wanted to see how the body would look stock. Or going with something like this with just a front lip:

Preferably set at a "speed bump clearing" height haha. roads are atrocious.

You've got to understand what it takes to paint a car to realize that 5-6k is not that bad. Your materials vary in price depending on the quality you use. Most of your decent clears are 250-300 a gallon plus activator/hardener. Then you have primers, sealers, base coat, and your normal supplies to complete the job like sand paper, tape, plastic, paper.
If you go the cheap route on everything you would still be close to 1k in materials. The last Z I did a color change on I had 1800 in everything start to finish.

Good to know. I heard of friends spending just around 1k for theirs.
I thought they were upselling me like crazy.
Any major differences between an $1800 job and a $5000 job to justify the cost difference?

Heres mine as stock as it got with that paint. I definitely liked the way it looked but would not have liked it with stock wheels. It was still borderline though, so I ended up going more aggressive pretty quick. Having been there I agree that the look has to be aggressive if your going to pull it off.
