Default Brighter 03 HID's?

Hi, I have an 03 Touring with the oem HID's, and notice they suck at night. Funny, I have two other vehicles with factory HID's, and they're amazing in the dark. I see you can upgrade to 06 headlights, but has anyone changed to a bulb that's brighter than the one in there?

oem HID capsules are the brightest. it may just be a factor of replacing them as they do lose output as the age and they shift to higher kelvin coloring. considering an 03 would be pushing 10 yrs old it might be worth a shot. but don't be fooled by aftermarket BS, OEM kelvin rated phillips is tops in terms of lumen (output)

I have updated my assemblies to the 06+. I don't feel they put out any more light, but they definitely put out a more controlled, more even beam

This^^ or purchase a 55 watt kit from theretrofitsource dot com. They are super bright. I had a 55 watt kit in a previous car of mine and as long as they were fitted into a projector housing, (the 03-05s are a poor excuse, but still are) you should have a much brighter output.
