I have an 04 350z white enthusiast and was wondering what you guys think of these mods. (I am currently a student right now and not working much and is on a low budget and was wondering if these mods are acceptable)
-powder coat stock 17" wheels gloss black
-add spacers
-coilovers
-gloss roof vinyl
-tinted tail lights
what do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Spacers $120 a pair, so basically $60 each
So basically $560, not much more you can get used Varstroen or Rota with tires.
Coilovers, your on a budget, anything worth getting starts around $1500, just get some lowering springs. Used is perfectly acceptable.
Gloss roof, whatever. The 2 tone ricer Civic look is i guess considered cool
Tinted tails, why would you want the 80's trailer park Mustang look and reduced vis?
I had 03' touring in chrome silver, that was pretty much the same setup. Looked like a$$. Save your money, and buy quality parts worthy of a Z. You'll be much happier with the car. IMO, get some nice wheels with proper offsets, quality coilovers, and leave it alone.

I know a guy who can powder coat my set for $180
- w/e forget the spacers
- lower springs sound okay
- i see what your saying about the gloss roof, cant really decide
- tinted tail lights are extremely common so definitely not an 80's look... and lots of people like them...
IMO I think black wheels look really good with black tail lights and having a gloss vinyl couldn't hurt and would make it all fit together.

I don't like black on Z's. Kindof takes away It's good looks. Im about to put some TE37's or reps color matched to my silverstone paint, black lugs, black emblems and handle, dropped on ksports, and then buy a purple BBK. Be creative.
Start with a fresh list.
First, don't waste your time with the OEM 17's
Either buy some used--WITH PROPER OFFSETS.
Or,buy some inexpensive new wheels of a design of your choice.
Wheels will be the foundation to your mods.
Forget the coil overs for now.You are on a budget.Have you priced
these?Nix the ricer roof&tails.
What is your budget?
Maybe add a front lip--no 99 buck e-bay junk.

I don't know why people are hating on the gloss roof. I mean it's even being offered as an option on new Mercedes. But don't do it without other mods first.
For the price of powder coat and spacers, just pick up some used wheels.
Get lowering springs if you're on a budget.
Stay away from the tinted tails. I did those and ended up yanking them.
