Interior Paint Color for 2007 350z? (black)
I'm doing paint touch up on the interior of my 2007 350z and need some advice on what paint color to buy.
Based on what I've read on these forums, I bought Dupli Color HVP 106 for the dark black areas (A/C vents, couple other areas) and it is a good match. But the color is too dark for the texturized black surfaces that occupy most of the interior, such as the door panels, dashboard, etc. Does anybody know the color color match for those areas?

As already been mentioned, you'll not find an exact match.
You mean you are planning on painting your door panels, dash etc?
They are all damaged?Just curious...
Whatever you select, the pieces need to be removed from the car for a proper
job.I highly recommend using Duplicolor Trim(BLACK).This paint has just enough .I'd also use Duplicolor adheshion promoter before
spraying on the Trim black.
of a satin sheen to match the interior. Also, its almost fool proof to use and very
durable.

The HR Zs have different interior materials / coatings. I had an '05 Z as well and it held up alot better. I dont know man, I am CrAzY OCD with my car, always take car of it, but somehow the materials have slowly chipped and to be honest I think most of it is from other people getting in it and not respecting it. (repair body shop employee and mechanics giving it inspections, alignments, etc.) Mostly the reason I do my own work now. Have to get it inspected again though I'm sure it'll come back with another chip or scratch near the door handle.

don't think you can replace the door by itself since it's all one unit(waterfall) which is $200 bucks I think...
So much easier to remove and wrap the pieces in a vinyl/cloth or send it off to be painted...can be done over the weekend in a painless manner...

Again, let me repeat myself..... DE Zs have a different material and paint coatings on the plastic. It doesn't just chip off like the HR interiors. The HR interiors seem to have some type of rubberized coatings on specific things in the car. Area around the door handle, around the window controls, the entire center piece, the small compartment lever. All these places are extremely delicate.
The HVP 106 does not really seem to be an exact match for anything interior, but it's close enough I think. I ended up being able to use it on the texturized panels by lightly misting it on the area. That will help it blend in and dry with a flat sheen. I originally tried to brush paint the areas after decanting some paint but it looked too stark and obvious. After giving it a couple dustings spraying directly from the can you can't even tell. And after putting a coat of armorall on it, eveything seems to blend in pretty well. Part of the reason why the match wont be exact is because of the sun bleaching of the interior parts, so I assume results will vary from car to car.
I painted one of my handles with duplicolor. Sanded it down and painted the whole thing, and it doesn't even scratch now. I'll post a pic of the factory one and the repainted one side by side (I only have one handle painted at the moment) when I get home from work tonight. The one I repainted just looks like a deeper black, as if the car were new.

Resurrecting this post, as this is the best I can find with search. I apologize in advance due to the question being asked so much.
My question *is* a tad bit different than just "what can I do about my panel"..
I went ahead and bought a new OEM 2008 350z Driver side Switch panel,.. so that's here,.. but the panel below that panel has a few scratches,.. these aren't worth a repaint or new part.. Definitely touch up material for me.
Here's a picture I took of it (I am replacing the top panel as indicated in picture).
Should be self explanatory:

So what have you guys had luck with when you are just touching up a little spot and not taking the piece off and completely redoing it? Some sort of bottle black paint with a little brush? A paint pen? Brand/paint color's or anything specific and even where you found it would be a huge help.
I'm holding off replacing the panel because I think touching this up will be easier with the top panel off.. then touching up the lower area.. letting it dry a few hours.. then putting the top *new* panel on and being done with it.
Appreciate your advice,

Your best bet for that handle will be to sand it down and remove all the old paint, hit it with a spray primer and then hit it with the Duplicolor Satin Finish spray paint
You can't touch that up, it's way past that point

If so,.. You would remove the bottom piece just for that little spot of scratch and refinish it, as opposed to touching it up?
Thanks. You did see that I made the graphic and pointed out that that top piece that is scratched to hell and back is being replaced with a new piece I already have right? And, that I just wanted to touch up the little spot that I drew the blue circle around?

You are probably right. The picture angle I took really makes it look like it's easy to see.. but it's really deeper into the handle on the inside of the door,.. and it not easily seen, especially with that new panel on top with zero scratches.
I'm going to *try* some sort of touch up first on that area.. if you HAD to touch it up.. what would you use?
Besides,.. if it's THAT bad, I can pull the panel off and go to town sanding it down and so on. (But honestly.. that panel I bought for the top is really a test panel.. if it scratches up easily.. I'm going carbon fiber on the door panels.. there's no sense in running painted panels that are WHITE underneath. Not sure what Nissan was thinking.. should have run black plastic and painted over it.. if it scratched off you'd see black on black.. not a big deal.
Thanks
