2008 350z door sills and hood latch area - Is this normal?
This is my first post. Hello all. I have been following this thread since June 2012 when we took ownership of a 2008 350Z Grand Touring. Very sweet car indeed. I never owned a true, two door sports car with only two seats.
Now, I am calling out to all Nissan techs and experienced 350Z owners....
Pardon for the dirt. Haven't had time to wash the car.
Question #1:
The door sills aren't completely lined up. Is this normal for all 350Zs?
Question #2:
Someone also mentioned to me that there is overspray under the hood latch area indicating the possibility of body work performed. Is this overspray or is this normal for all 350Zs?
The car was purchased as a certified pre-owned so I doubt it was involved in a collision as the carfax came back clean unless the prior owner got it fixed without reporting it. I also ran an autocheck by experian and it's clean.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks all,
Andrew

If you're referring to the rocker panel fit, there are small white plastic clips that hold them to the side of the Z. If any of them get damaged or broken, the gaps between them and the bottom of the door can get slightly bigger.
As for the hood latch area, it's hard to tell much from your pics. Some overspray or paint drips on the backside of the hood are within normal production limits.

Thanks dkmura. Will check for the white plastic clips.
As for the hood latch area, I thought it was normal but was given mis-information from some haters that apparently don't own a Z and wanted one.
Thanks for the clarification.
