careless in the Z damanged passenger qt panel
Well the story of how it happen is not important but i'm just curious as to how much this would cost for repair. I'm on the east coast, in Rhode Island (encase anyone has a reputable body shop around here) and need a price range. right above the side skirt right next to the rear wheel is a inch dent followed by damage right above the wheel to the metal. place where I bought it quoted me $800 bucks but frankly I don't know if this is a good price or not... My past experiences with shops haven't been to well as my knowledge of cars only go as far as electronics . any help is appreciated, wish the seibon carbon rear fenders were in my price range to have installed..... sadly no. thanks guys/girls
p.s. they're not going to put body filler on it repaint it and call it a day right? or is that normal procedure?
yes shes a dirty girl it keeps going from warm weather to snow every couple days

The damage is minor. Definitely fixable.
They'll probably try to get as much of the dents out then fill them in and repaint/clear.
Did they tell you exactly what they're doing to charge 800$?

not at all I was getting a "free" oil change and asked if they're "guy" could give me an estimate. I was hoping 800 was high. also being PPW should I expect to notice a different in the color or is it relativity easy to match?

I cannot tell if your car is white or silver. If the car is metallic then they will need to cover much more than the damaged area to match the orignal paint. What paint products would they use. Good paint, reducer and hardener can be very expensive. Go ask them what leads to $800 for the estimate.

Yes, filler and repaint is normal procedure. What we do is pull the dent out as much as we can without making it higher than what it should be. then plastic filler, glazing puddy, 2k primer, base, clear. Seeing as how you hit it right on that body line it's going to take alittle bit more work.
You have a PPW so your going to get a 3 stage paint job. white, translucent pearl, clearcoat which is going to cost more. 800 is a good price, on the high side but most shops will be around 600-800 for a quarter panel repair like that.
are they going to blend the paint for the side skirt too? bc PPW is a hard color to match and it will NOT match if only said quarter panel is repainted. well factory paint doesn't match either so its really up to you lol.
YOU might want to get the paint blending into the door also, bc the repair area is pretty close to it. If you want a perfect job. I'll tell you right now, the paint will not match. (quarter and door) down below the repair area, the top will be fine. Don't blame the body shop when you get the car back and the bottom half of quarter panel and door don't match lol.

and then the whole panel will be re-cleared.
not exact measurements but close enough for you to understand that you might want to think about blending into the door and side skirt.

yup, not a whole lot more. But i'm assuming you'll be paying cash, so talk to the owner of the shop YOU bring up the blending option and be like look, i'll give you 1000 if you repair quarter panel, blend the door and side skirt and see where that takes you. I know my shop would do it.

$800 doesnt seem too high if they blend.
I had damage repair done and the shop didnt blend, it was an obvious two different colors. I complained and they resprayed my whole car for $200.
