Default I've tried to everything but still no luck

When I wrapped my center console in the vinyl and put everything back together I wasn't sure how the springs went back on.. This caused my door to not pop up by itself. I have to press the button and push on the top part to open it.

Today I took it all apart since I had nothing else to do to try and tried to fix it but I spent about 3 hours trying different things out and nothing.. Just wondering if anyone could help me out.. It's a 04 console. For those of you that know abt what I'm talking abt the short end of the spring is what's giving me the biggest problem. I'll add pictures later to show what I'm talking abt when I get home

I did some searching but it's apparently different because it's a 06+
There's a DIY here and also tried Google 350ztech and no luck

Thanks in advance

If you add proper pics I could explain better, but the straight part of the spring goes in the hole and you have to put tension on the spring by spinning it counterclockwise (if I remember correctly) and put the other side of the spring behind the lip...sorry if it sounds confusing but it's kind of a pita
